Graduating in 1997 from the School of Visual Arts began an editorial path that led to publications like Nylon, Interview, Jalouse and NY Times Magazine. In 2002 Gilanyi Moved from NYC back to his home on the New Jersey coast to start Steadfast Films and to make a surf documentary. In 2004 Steadfast Films released Through the Looking Glass, a East Coast surf film. With his maiden film effort Gilanyi was nominated Most Aspiring Director in the X Dance Film Festival 2004. Gilanyi moved to Southern California in 2005 to work as the associate art director of Surfing Magazine. Love for his home brought him back to the east coast in 2006 where he launched Love Illuminati, a mens and women’s boutique. Now in Newtown PA, Gilanyi is facilitating all projects under the sun from print design, film making, editing, surf board building, hand painted signs to tiny house design and manufacturing.
